Bangkok is the hottest tourist destination in the world after the city of London. This strategically located city is a place where east meets west. Bangkok has experienced tremendous growth in the last the last thirty years. There are two capital cities in Bangkok, the historical capital of Rattanakosin and the modern Thai capital of Bangkok.

Bangkok is a key gateway for travellers visiting South-East Asia. The city is predominantly Buddhist with over four hundred temples that can be found within Bangkok’s city limits. Famous Temples in Bangkok include Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Wat Sathat and Wat Saket. Other historical sites include the former Grand Palace. There are several cultural and historical museums that can be found throughout Bangkok. There are also numerable sites that allow visitors to see traditional Thai art.

Bangkok is also famous for its abundant shopping. One of the largest shopping malls in Asia, Siam Paragon, can be found in Bangkok. There are numerous shopping centres and street markets scattered throughout the city. Visitors can also experience Thai cuisine in fine restaurants and from the street vendors. Bangkok offers a wide variety of accommodations from backpacker hostels to five star hotels.

Bangkok is also a popular destination for sports. Bangkok offers golfing and visitors can be spectators at horse races and football matches. There are also traditional matches of Muay Thai, a local form of boxing that martial art enthusiast can observe.
