Perth Travel Guide


Perth is the capital and the largest city of the state of Western Australia. It has a Mediterranean climate with warm, sunny weather for most of the year. 

Perth’s beaches are relatively uncrowded and are always clean, making them one of the city’s main attractions. Sorrento Beach is one of the best, providing safe swimming for people of all ages. All Perth’s beaches have cafes within walking distance. 

The Swan River is another highlight, and is best enjoyed by taking one of the many cruises that are offered along the river, some including dinner and music within their price. 

Perth is a great base for anyone interested in the history and culture of Western Australia. There is an impressive collection of aboriginal artefacts in Western Australia Museum, and the Art Gallery of Western Australia is home to the State Art Collection. 

Kings Park and Botanic Gardens is one of the city’s largest attractions with the parklands and attractive gardens covering over 400 hectares. Perth Zoo is also worth a visit. It can be reached by taking a short ferry ride from the city and is home to a number of Australian species such a wallabies, dingoes and kangaroos.



Visitors heading outside the city can find Yanchep National Park where they can see koalas and kangaroos or go on one of the daily culture tours. Visitors can also take a tour of the mystical Crystal Cave. 

Every kind of shopping is available in Perth, from souvenirs and arts and crafts to electronics and gadgets.
