Turks and Caicos Islands Travel

With 25,738 people situated on a land mass of 430 square kilometres Turks and Caicos Islands is a tourism Mecca for divers and people looking for more than the expected golden beaches found in the Caribbean.

Turks and Caicos Islands are made up of 9 regions which incorporate the smaller islands which are found in the island state. The islands are situated in the North Atlantic Ocean just south east of the Bahamas. The islands which until 1959, formed part of the Jamaican Colony, are now designated as overseas territory of the United Kingdom.

Turks and Caicos Islands are identified as being a semi arid region as rainfall is not as frequent as other Caribbean islands and generally it only rains in the Hurricane season which is between August and November. The islands average 50 inches of rain annually and have a constant temperature between 26C and 28C.
